While more emphasis is being laid on research in social sciences, subject experts have also laid more emphasis on teaching and training of research methodology. As a result, according to the new syllabus of the University Grants Commission on the subject of Research Methodology, the need for a book in Hindi language was felt and learned writers have also made successful efforts in this direction. But the books written on research method have been written keeping in mind the syllabus of other universities which is not in accordance with the syllabus of Purvanchal University. Due to the experience of this deficiency, the inspiration for writing this book was received and the efforts of the writer are presented before the readers. In writing the present book, the author has taken care of many things.

This book is based on the University Grants Commission's syllabus (UGC-Curriculum, 2001) which is compatible with the syllabus of M.A. Psychology, Sociology and Pedagogy. Simple and comprehensible language has been used in this book so that the readers can think and meditate easily in their mother tongue because the thinking done in mother tongue will be original. In writing this book, the author has directly or indirectly taken help from the works of many scholars, without which the writing of this book would not have been possible. Kerlinger's Foundation of Behavioral Research has been used as a standard text in the writing of this book.
