Description
I was Born and Brought up as a Hindu. I have been to Lord Krishna's temple right from my childhood. In fact my name Dasari Murali Manohar (Parthasarathi) itself has it sown significance. I was born in Proper Kurnool on a day when Lord Krishna's idol was installed in the temple of Vignana Mandir, B.Camp, Kurnool. My father wa s devout Hindu and a vlunteer in that temple....
As a hard working student, I sacrificed so many things in my student days. Of course, those are not as important as any body thinks. If one wants to do certain things one has to lose certain things. One cannot achieve both the things....
The aim of the project is to study why so many Dalits embrace different religions such as Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, and Ramajujacharya to mention only a few. I believe all the Dalits of this country are born Hindus. If at all they have a religion, they have a religion of Hinduism. dalits are the nature worshippers. Only, later they have moved to different religions due to ill treatment, harassment, discrimination, oppression, looking down upon them are some of the reasons for converting from one religion to another. It is not out of self-interest. It is not out of love or overwhelmed by those religions. If you touch any name of Dalit, they will have affiliations to names of Hindu god. In my research I have come to know that some of the Dalit Christians had to change their Christian names into Hindu names in order to retain Constitutional benefits. Otherwise they would not be issued caste certificate if the name is Christian. However, some of the Dalits who have embraced Christianity have foregone the corstitutional benefits. Of late, some have changed their names and second and third generations, have completely ruled out of identity with Hindi religions therefore they have Christian names. Some of the Dalits who have embraced Sikhism, Buddhism have been given constitutional benefits. However, there is a demand from Dalit Christians to extend the same benefits. It is still debtated.
