Description

Hinduism is an eternal theme of quest not because its philosophy is too intricate nor it is beyond all known parameters of classification of religion, but simply because it is religion of religions. It is not one exclusive religion with defined boundaries. It is, therefore, quite natural even though books after books have been written on Hinduism, there is always a need for writing a fresh book, a fresh approach. The presnet book "essential Hinduism" was written as a result of intense and close interaction with the migrant Hindus in Mauritius where Sri M.N. Tiwary was for four years and he had a close interaction with the migrant Hindus in Mauritius where Sri M.N. Tiwary was for four years and he had a close view of intrinsic capacity of Hinduism to survive and flourish in an adverse situation. His book therefore has a freshness of its own. Though he has taken up basic texts and scriptures, the total interpretation is his own.

The writer is neither a priest nor he claims to be a scholar. He is a practising simple Hindu and his every day routine life is the measure of his comprehension of Hinduism. Therefore the book is a very reliable as a genune self-reflective document which he has arranged in the present from.

Sri M.N. Tiwary is a senior Retd. Civilian and his prupose of writing this book is neither self-propagation nor any sort of defensive explanation. It is a simple narration of how a Hindu is and as to what for one likes it. Hinduism is not merely a set of tenets. It is an enactment of First principles.
