Munshi Premchand, born Dhanpat Rai Srivastava on July 31, 1880, was one of the most celebrated writers of the Indian subcontinent. He wrote in Hindi and Urdu and is regarded as one of the foremost Hindi-Urdu writers of the early 20th century. Premchand's early life was marked by financial struggles and personal tragedies. He lost his mother at a young age and had to take on various odd jobs to support his family. Despite these challenges, he was determined to pursue his education and writing career.
