Preface

Applied Psychometry is basically a textbook for measurement courses in psychology and education. The book concentrates on psychological testing and assessment in a very human, creative, and collaborative fashion. The book has been written and introduced into three parts. Part is entitled Fundamental concepts of Classroom Assessment and evaluation and it contains nine chapters. Through these nine chapters, the reader will get a clear, comprehensive, and scientific knowledge about evaluation, assessment, and tools of assessment, especially psychological tests. Part II is entitled Major Domains of Psychometric Assessment which contains chapters 10 through 19. Therefore, this part contains ten chapters and a lucid attempt has been made to cover fields like achievement testing, attitude testing, intelligence testing, personality testing as well as the measurement of interest, values and attitudes, and measurement of creativity. Besides this, neuropsychological assessment has also been discussed in a comprehensive way. The most significant aspect of this part is that it also explains the application of psychological testing in different fields. Such scientific explanation will provide in-depth knowledge about the practical aspects of psychological testing in different fields. Part III is entitled as Basic Statistical Concepts and it contains chapters 20 through 27. The author has made a genuine attempt to explain the various statistical tools often used in assessment and measurement. It will help those students who are planning to start research work in the area of measurement and psychological testing.
