It is pleasure to go through the manuscript of Excavations at Madanapur' by Dr. D.P.Tewari. The site is located in shahjahanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. it is a single culture site. it was excavated during the session 2002-03 by Dr. D.P.Tewari on behalf of Department of ancient Indian history and Archacology, University of Lucknow.
The site is represented by the painted Grey Ware. Black slipped ware. Black-and Red ware. Cord-impressed ware and other associated red wares. Besides having discussion on the cuttings, structural remain pottery and other antiquites, the report also contains useful and exhaustive information not only about the geomorphology of the area but about the fanual and botanical remains are contributed by well known specialists of their field, these informations go a long way to familiarize one with the flora and fauna encountered by the painted Grey ware people at the site.
