Description
This book has brought into light in a brief sketch, how with the soft and affectionate heart of a mother or of a sister, Smt. Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India advanced to protect the ten million refuges of Bangla Desh from the imminent danger of hunger and death by assuring them to render every sort of help and sympathy, how she carried her pledge that she would be ever ready and prepared to stand bold for their cause and face any sort of eventuality that might come on the way for saving humanity from the hand of devilishness and how she maintained her promise in letters till the end, that she would be ever-ready to share bread with them by asking them to remember that India is the land of Lord Krishna and Lord Budha who preached love and fraternity, that the Mother India who had produced sons like Ashoka the Great, swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath, Mahatme Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose and Lal Bahadur Shastri who all fought for humanity, could not betray them to the least and that the whole of India would stand united to shoulder any risk for the common cause of saving humanity from the jaws of brutal force.Â
After giving such assurance of providing them with every sort of succour in this hanging time, she paused a little and began to ponder over seriously in her mind how she would brave the situation which signalled a great danger that lay ahead. Awhile she was at her wit's end but immediately she came to herself. It appeared to her that the time was calling her to stand for the test of her vow given a few months before to the masses of India in her electioneering tour that she would ever stand for the needy, for the distressed human sufferings and for liberty and that she would live and die for democracy. Further she thought that the time had come to exhibit her indomitale courage and valour in the trial of her ideals. That time was peeping with the indication to get her prepared to display publicly her beauty and nobleness of character and her with and intelligence that she had gathered under the guidance of her dear father. Again the thought that as if she was being led unknowingly and unseeingly before this crucial time only to manifest her magnificance, her undaunted courage and her unflinching tenacity to stand for the real cause. Moreover, the time was calling her to show the exact display of her talent that she possessed to lead the country through so many odds and difficulties. In addition to these, the opportune time was, as if, bidding her to show her true and sincere love for democracy to her critics who accused her the other day of being a patron of communism and who expressed their suspicion in her leadership.
