PHYLLIS GRANOFF teaches Sanskrit and Indian Religions at McMaster University in Himilton, Ontario. She has written extensively on Jain literature, particularly Jain religious biographies. She has also translated a collection of short stories by Bibhutibhushan Bandhopadhyaya from Bengali to English.
