Description
A tale of two people wandering through Kashmir. A travel journal, a living oral lineage, philosophy and love. This is a personal journey into the home of my spiritual preceptor, Swami Lakshmanjoo. A connection to a tradition called Kashmir Shaivism. The discovery of the Goddess that surrounds the valley. The remnants of the Naga civilization. And a way of looking at the world, of which our spiritual ancestors left behind.
Preface
The longing to stay at Jyestha Devi Ashram opened the doorways in my being for penning down this book. It was a most peaceful and serene place. A magical space in the heart of the mountains, that is Sri Nagar in Kashmir. I had to return to Bombay due to unforeseen causes, which made me really unhappy. As I could have easily prolonged my stay for another week to soak and live in the beauty of Jyestha. I consequently fell terribly ill upon my arrival in Bombay. And in my psychosomatic state of being inspiration dawned. For two weeks I was out but continued to write the story of my journey while the Monsoon began to shower its grace. I dedicate this to 'Her' for showing me that part of myself.
To Swami Lakshmanjoo, for dragging me all the way up there.
To Ruchi for all her kindness, love and support.
Now, enough about me. This is both a manual and travelogue to be read and re-read throughout your days and nights to come.
May this be an offering of Peace.
