Early Life and Spiritual Awakening
Sadguru Sant Keshavadas was born in Bhadravati, Karnataka, into a deeply spiritual Hindu family. From an early age, he displayed a strong inclination toward devotion (bhakti) and the chanting of divine names (kirtan). His inner calling was evident even as a child, when he spent hours immersed in prayer, singing hymns, and studying sacred scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads.

At a young age, he experienced profound spiritual visions that led him to dedicate his life to spreading the message of divine love and universal harmony through music and devotion.

Mission and Teachings
Sant Keshavadas became a global ambassador of kirtan yoga — the yoga of chanting the Lord’s names. His ecstatic and heartfelt singing inspired countless devotees to open their hearts to the divine. He travelled widely across India, the United States, Europe, and other parts of the world, spreading the timeless wisdom of Sanatana Dharma through spiritual talks, meditation, and song.

He taught that the simplest and most powerful path to God-realization was through Nama Japa (repetition of God’s name) and selfless service (seva).
His message emphasized:

Love and devotion to God in any form
The unity of all religions
Living a life of purity, compassion, and self-discipline
Literary Contributions

Sant Keshavadas was also a prolific writer, blending ancient wisdom with practical guidance for modern seekers. Some of his most popular works include:
The Path of Light
The Divine Life
Gayatri: The Highest Meditation
Sri Vishnu Sahasranama: A Spiritual Commentary
The Eternal Religion: Teachings of Sanatana Dharma

Through these writings, he introduced the essence of Vedic spirituality to Western audiences in an accessible and devotional manner.

Global Work
In 1972, he founded the Temple of Cosmic Religion and later the Temple of Kirtan in Los Angeles, dedicated to promoting world peace through music, prayer, and interfaith understanding. He also initiated many Western disciples into the practice of Gayatri Mantra, Surya worship, and Nama Sankeertana.

His dynamic presence and deep compassion earned him followers across continents. Many remember him as a saint who radiated joy, simplicity, and unconditional love.
