Description

The Sanskrit Sahitya Parishad, Ramjas College is proud on its activities and has great pleasure in placing before the readers its valuable and second publication "A Comparative & Ana-lytical Study of the Vedas" a companion of scholarly contri-bution at the seminars of Sanskrit Sahitya Parishad. Two Seminars were held by Parishad about Vedas in 1979 and 1980.

A large number of scholars from different institutions and colle-ges of Delhi made the seminars a success by their active partici-pation in the form of papers, discussions and presidential re-marks, Encouraged by the success of its first publication, 'Ancient Indian Culture and Literature-1980, Sanskrit Sahitya Parishad again decided to publish these articles to make it more useful and scholarly.

The Parishad decided to collect more articles from other eminent scholars outside Delhi and on the request of the Parishad the response was so rich that we got a lot of scholarly articles about different aspects of the Vedas.

Actually we had a plan in our mind to discuss some import-ant topics on Vedas, specially on Vedic interpretations & histo-rical topics. Our learned scholars discussed every topic in their articles profoundly and seriously. Now Parishad has enough matter for a book but it is not possible to present them in one volume. Our Publishers decided to publish these articles in two volumes. This is the first one and the second one is coming very shortly.

These volumes are dedicated to sacred memory of Dr. Narendra Nath Choudhuri, former Head of Department of Sanskrit in Ramjas College and University of Delhi. He was the first Professor in the Department of Sanskrit, Univer-siry of Delhi and served this Department for several years.Â
