Nilesh D Nathwani was born in Jinja, Uganda at the end of the Second World War. Deeply influenced by the radicals of the Indian freedom fighters, Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Sri Aurobindo, he went to study at Puducherry, India. His first book Kailash-Mansarovar was well received by the general public and even became a best-seller. At present, he is living in the beautiful city of Vienna, Austria.

Amita Nathwani was born in Dehra Dun, India in 1944, Deeply influenced by Sri Aurobindo, she went to live in Pondicherry in 1963. There she met and married Nilesh and since 1973 has lived in Europe. They have two sons and four grandchildren. After working in India, Africa and Europe, she decided to dedicate her life to transcribing and working on the twelve volumes of Devayana.
