Description

This book is specially written with the wishes of Central Naturopathy Association to give the public in general and medical men in particular, an idea of therapeutic purpose of Yoga.

Yoga does not seem to have been used as a therapeutical system in ancient times. Yoga has been considered as a spiritual discipline and recognized as such throughout the ages by all other systems of Indian Philosophy. But it is also necessary to understand the Yoga scope in terms of therapy.

The health as holistic science not merely concerned at the physical level but also includes mental, spiritual, emotional and social dimension. But unfortunately, the running world, newer technology, lack of time, supressing the emotions, the global scenerio shows the deviation of health from holistic approach to unidimensional approach ie only at the physical level. Any Health concerned should shed tears on this deviated spectrum of health towards the negative aspect.

Realizing this situation, in 1920's swami. Kuvalayanda modernized the yoga for curative & preventive measures of human sufferings by making the scientific investigations on yogic exercises. By this, he found the real benefits & contra-indications of various yogic thechniques.

The objective of this book, on this basis, is to explain the non-professional & medical man to grow their personality at various level.

I thank our president of C.N.A. Shri. Rawalmal Jain 'Mani' to give the golden opportunity to serve the humanity through this publication. I also show the gratitude to my entire beloved students of Shri Mahavir Medical College of Naturopathy Yogic Sciences & Researches for their active participation to dawn this book.
