How these activities influence each organ and the whole or- ganism and help man gain perfect physical and mental health has been thoroughly discussed in the Ayurvedic literature. It also gives in detail the means of maintaining perfect health in different seasons by counteracting the deliterious effects of various environmental factors and by modifying the daily regi- men in a manner suitable for the particular season.

In this book, I have made a sincere effort to acquaint the reader with the wealth of knowledge available in Ayurvedic litera- ture on this important aspect of human life. It is essential that one should understand the meanings of some of the basic Ayurvedic medical words like vata, pitta and kapha to appre- ciate the scientific meaning underlying therein. The present book is of value to practitioners of Ayurveda, modern medi- cine, and to all those who want to keep healthy and vigorous. I am sure that anyone who puts into practice the daily and seasonal regimen as advised by our ancient masters will en- joy a long, healthy, happy and useful life.
